Pamper Yourself Tonight.

Thursday, September 30th, 2004
Girl

When is the last time you actually spent an entire evening pampering yourself? This weekend, The Comfortable Girl suggests that you pick a night, rent yourself a movie, order in chinese (or a pizza), and relax. It’s time you started scheduling yourself some “me” time.

Start by choosing the night that is most convient for you, and make sure you have handled the kids, the husband/bf, or any other “disturbances” that could disrupt you from total relaxation.

The next step is going out for some supplies. The Comfortable Girl suggests you make your first stop at the video store, and rent the movie: that you have never had the time to watch, but always wanted too. We also recommend that you venture onto the Bath and Body Works website and look at the new products they have to offer.

The other stops are up to you. If you love to read, stop off at a bookstore and pick up that novel you have had your eye on, or if you are need of a new CD, now is the time to splurge. After all, this is ALL in the name of therapy, right? You last and final stop should be a store that sells your favorite junk foods. This is night to throw away the diet books and enjoy “having the munchies”.

Bathtime Bliss

When you finally set aside time for a bath, be sure to make the most of it. Gather all your
goodies — an Aromatherapy candle, matches, a quiet CD and CD player, your fluffiest towels, and most importantly, a “do not disturb†sign. Give yourself a few minutes to set up your sanctuary, then indulge in one of our bathtime rituals.

HYDROTHERAPY - Discover the Healing Power of Water

Hydrotherapy utilizes the therapeutic properties in water to relieve muscle and joint pain, stress, fatigue and much more. At Bath and Body Works we know that water is essential for good health, that’s why we’ve combined the benefits or Aromatherapy and Hydrotherapy to bring you this unique collection of bathing products.

He’s Just Not THAT Into You…

Monday, September 27th, 2004

For ages women have come together over coffee, cocktails, or late-night phone chats to analyze the puzzling behavior of men.

He’s afraid to get hurt again.
Maybe he doesn’t want to ruin the friendship.
Maybe he’s intimidated by me.
He just got out of a relationship.

Greg Behrendt and Liz Tuccillo are here to say that — despite good intentions — you’re wasting your time. Men are not complicated, although they’d like you to think they are. And there are no mixed messages.

The truth may be He’s just not that into you.

Ladies for a good laugh, stop by your local bookstore, or make a few clicks on Amazon.com to get a hold of this book. Women from all over have praised this book. I have to hand it to Greg and Liz for telling us like it is.

Treat Yourself

Saturday, September 25th, 2004

Ladies, the end of September is nearing and for many of us, this time of the year can be stressful. If you are a student returning to school, a parent trying to manage, or simply a woman needing a change, I propose that we all treat ourselves with a little gift. Fall is right around the corner, and that means the pink, yellow, or light blue summer purse you have been carrying around all summer has to return to the closet. It is time for a new purse!

This does not mean you have to empty out your wallet, a good Fall purse can be great looking and affordable at the same time. One of my favorites I came across when searching for a nice Fall purse was this cute little number from Isaac Mizrahi.

Structure and grace are well in hand with the Isaac Mizrahi Trap Satchel, a canvas handbag that’s sophisticated but never stuffy. With silvertone hardware and a witty snap buckle closure that looks like an overalls fastener, this unique design opens to reveal a vivid pink lining with lots of smart extras. In addition to a long interior zip pocket great for keys or sunglasses, there’s a dual compartment trimmed in leather that’s just right for your cell phone and PDA. Natural Canvas has brown leather details; Black and Charcoal are finished with black leather. Its perfect proportions and classic form give the Trap Satchel a timeless appeal, but you’ll want to grab onto one right now.

A Girl’s Night Out? Or Maybe Not…

The Comfortable Girl…

Does NOT appologize to the ‘girls’ for turning down a girl’s night out at the bar to stay at home, catch a movie, eat some ice cream or perhaps do some scrapbooking.

Wecome to The Comfortable Girl!

Thursday, September 23rd, 2004

Hello World.

Right now this site is in the process of being re-designed. When you return I hope to have everything up and running.

Guys: I regret to inform you that if you have stumbled across this site, you may be disappointed. HOWEVER, if you continue to check back every so often, you may find ideas about what your girl could want out of you, out of life, and most importantly, out of a wrapped gift from you.

This site, at least for a little while, will be open to all comments that you have to give. Although, if you have a suggestion for the site I would prefer if you would email me directly. That way I can post your “suggestion” about a new brand of pillow, or a divine new chocolate everyone must taste, DIRECTLY on the site, as opposed to in the comments box.

My email address: stephanie@thecomfortablegirl.com

This site will be made up of what I have chosen to call “comforts”. In the world a girl can find comforts in anything, if they look. I will also occasionally post little sayings that a real “comfortable girl” should do.

For example:

The comfortable girl finds nothing wrong with giving herself an extra half hour while shopping in Marshall Fields to take a rest in one of the arm chairs on the third floor.

The comfortable girl is NEVER embarassed enough to stop singing in the car, just because the people that pull up next to her look at her strangely. The true comfortable girl should turn in the direction of the stares and simply pretend they are her audience, cracking the window so they can hear her if need be.

I will also be posting information about new products that pop up, which could be essential for any comfortable girl to have.

This is all I have time for today. Soon this site will be colorful and welcoming, please do not be turned away by it’s plainness that you currently see before you.

Stephanie
